DRAFT Minutes of Leven Parish Council meeting held on Tuesday, 5 April 2022 at 7:15pm in the school.

The clerk advised that a letter of resignation had been received from Councillor Ray Gibson. The clerk would advise East Riding of Yorkshire Council accordingly.

21-22/141      Declaration of interest both pecuniary and non-pecuniary: K Macklin declared a non- pecuniary interest in item 21-22/148 Leven Playingfields Association donation (revised) and would not be taking part in the discussions.

21-22/142      Minutes of the last meeting: S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all were in favour of the minutes being signed as a true record.

S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all were in favour of the above payments being made.

As the salary advice for the clerk and Mr Dawson had not been received before the meeting the payments could not be approved. The clerk asked for permission to send to the councillors the amounts by email when the payslips were received to enable the salaries to be paid. S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all agreed to the above.

21-22/148      Financial matters:

Grass cutting tenders: The clerk had received 2 tenders after the closing date. The parish councillors considered both and S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all were in favour of offering Mr Phil Peel the 2-year contract.

Brick planter maintenance: Matter to be put on hold. Will consider again in the autumn.

Leven Playingfields Association donation (revised): At the October 2021 meeting of the parish council the councillors had agreed in principle to award a grant of £500 towards phase 2 of the Leven Sports Hall carpark refurbishment. As the cost of materials has gone up the Leven Playing Fields Association had asked if the grant could be used towards phase 1 instead. S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all were in favour of the grant being used towards phase 1.

21-22/149      HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: 2 June 2022 – 5 June 2022

The clerk advised the councillors that the recently submitted grant application to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Fund had been successful. A grant up to the sum of £386 has been approved. This will allow the parish council to purchase bows to be tied onto the lampposts and a plaque for The Queen’s Green Canopy to be sited in front of the Flowering Cherry tree planted on the Jubilee Garden. As the clerk will have to purchase the goods herself and claim the money back, she has asked if the payment can be made to her once the goods have been received. S Nicholson proposed, Mrs Fearnall seconded, and all were in favour of the above.
